MFS is a collaborative effort of the IT Department, Government of Kerala, and the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), with valuable support from industry major Infosys.

Model Finishing Ernakulam offer various courses for the benefit of students for employing a secure place in Job market. MFS is offering various courses under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology(NIELIT), MIKAVU-project of Ernakulam Jilla Panchayath, TECHIE SPACE- project of District Industrial Department, Ernakulam. Institute of Human Resources Development(IHRD)

Model Finishing Schools (MFS) function under the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), an autonomous body established by the Government of Kerala in 1987.

IHRD is the largest government-owned network of higher education institutions in Kerala, with a presence across the state through 87 institutions, including 9 Engineering Colleges, 46 Colleges of Applied Sciences, 15 Technical Higher Secondary Schools, 2 Regional Centres, 6 Extension Centres, 8 Model Polytechnics, and 2 Model Finishing Schools.

Recognising its expertise in technology and training, the Government of Kerala has designated IHRD as the Total Solution Provider (TSP) for computerisation of Government departments.
